About Us
Community Recovery International is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization that reaches recovering people in the love and power of Christ and helps restore them to God and community. We receive people where they are, restore them to God’s intended design and help them reintegrate into society with a new support system. Each week, we provide support and resources to all who seek help for their life issues. We do this through:
1. Friday night ministry: Every Friday night, Community Recovery serves a free meal followed by a recovery worship service, support groups, and dessert time. This consistent, reliable format continues to connect recovering people to Christ, healthy living, and community support. We meet every Friday, regardless of weather and/or holidays. This program is also offered on other evenings at additional locations.
2. Counseling Center: Professional counseling is offered to those who need focused attention. Services are provided on a sliding scale (or free of charge), based on the client’s ability to pay. Counseling is available for all ages and is facilitated by licensed professionals.
3. Pastoral Care: Community Recovery’s pastors and ministry team members offer pastoral care to all who need a hospital visit, one on one coaching, and mentoring.
4. Resourcing & Referral: For those who need a food pantry, help with housing, employment referrals, or any care or services offered in the community, Community Recovery’s ministry team will bring participants to the right resources at the right times for the right reasons.
5. Advocacy: When life becomes difficult and there seems to be no place to turn, Community Recovery’s ministry team is available to advocate and walk with someone who needs comprehensive support.
6. Training: Considering your own Community Recovery ministry? Contact Dr. Vander Meer to schedule training and support to launch Community Recovery in your church.
7. International: We are planting more Community Recovery ministries in churches in Bangladesh, India, Nigeria, and Kenya, and in over 50 other countries, in partnership with the Timothy Leadership Training Institute.
God is using Community Recovery to do Kingdom work in more effective ways through equipping churches to bring the Gospel to all, starting with each community’s needs. Our purpose is to facilitate life-changing and community-building ministry for the 21st century within the unique context of every church. Join us!
